How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Toën derived Hall algebra by homotopy-cofiber convolution
Definition
Let be a locally finite dg-enhancement over the finite field in the sense of Locally finite dg enhancements for derived Hall theory. Let be the core homotopy type of its perfect-module category: points are perfect modules, paths are quasi-isomorphisms, and higher paths are the derived mapping spaces. Let be the core homotopy type of arrows between perfect modules and the core homotopy type of composable pairs. These are the cores of the corresponding objectwise homotopy theories, so their equivalences are objectwise quasi-isomorphisms.
An arrow determines three maps
where is the functorial homotopy cofiber in the supplied dg enhancement. Thus remembers the source and cofiber, and remembers the target. For a composable pair , write for the first arrow, for the second, for the composite, and for the induced map of cofibers.
Set
The product is the convolution
where on , and and pullback are those of Locally finite homotopy types and rational cardinality. For an isomorphism class of perfect modules, let be its characteristic function. The form a basis, and
where is the weighted homotopy cardinality of the fiber of over restricted to arrows with source isomorphic to and cofiber isomorphic to .
The zero module gives the candidate unit . The definition is well-defined: local finiteness and finite support of the convolution follow from Derived Hall moduli types are locally finite and the input span is proper ↗.
Correspondence diagram
The horizontal map sends an arrow to its target; the vertical map sends it to its source and homotopy cofiber. The product pulls two input functions back along the vertical map and pushes them forward along the horizontal map. The diagram records this correspondence; it supplies no proof of associativity.

Dependency tree · two levels
10 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
