How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Uniform representation stability for consistent sequences of -modules
Definition
Let be a field of characteristic . A consistent sequence is a sequence in which each is a finite-dimensional left -module and each is -equivariant, the target being regarded as an -module by restriction along the standard inclusion that fixes . An FI-module over with finite-dimensional values (The category FI and FI-modules over a commutative ring) determines such a sequence by and for the standard inclusions ; these maps are -equivariant by functoriality and the conjugation action, since with the extension of by the fixed point .
The sequence is uniformly representation stable with stable range when all three of the following hold.
- (I) Injectivity. The map is injective for every .
- (II) Surjectivity. The -span of the image is all of for every .
- (III) Multiplicities. For each partition and each with , let be the irreducible -module indexed by the first-row padding (First-row padding of a partition), namely the scalar extension of the rational Specht model, which is the unique irreducible -module with that label (Specht modules classify the irreducibles over every field of characteristic zero; over this is the published complex Specht classification Complex Specht modules are irreducible). Decompose with multiplicities , the sum over those with . Then for every fixed the multiplicity is independent of for all , with when so that undefined padded modules do not leave undefined multiplicities.
The sequence is uniformly representation stable when it is so for some . All three conditions are part of the definition, and (II) is not a consequence of (I) and (III): take with its permutation action and, for , define ; let be the zero map from . These maps are -equivariant and injective, since the first coordinates of are the . For , is the direct sum of the trivial line and the irreducible sum-zero space , so its padded multiplicities are constant. To see the latter identification directly, the -tabloid module is the permutation module on the singleton second row, and its polytabloids are the differences , which span the sum-zero space. Every image of lies in the sum-zero submodule of , so its -span misses the trivial quotient. Thus (I) and (III) hold for , while (II) fails. No choice principle is used.

37 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
