How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Antidominant twists are D-affine and regular ones are conservative
Statement
Assume the flag-variety setup of Flag-variety twisted differential operators and their modules. If is antidominant, then every quasi-coherent left -module satisfies Moreover, is exact on the category of quasi-coherent left -modules. If is also regular, then implies . The antidominance and regularity conditions are independent hypotheses; regularity alone does not imply the vanishing assertion.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The Axiom of Choice, , an ample line bundle for sufficiently dominant integral , an antidominant (and, for conservativity, regular) , and a quasi-coherent left -module .
Every quasi-coherent -module is a filtered union of coherent submodules, and cohomology commutes with those filtered colimits (Quasicoherent modules are filtered unions of coherent subsheaves and cohomology commutes with these colimits).
For coherent and ample , there is an integer such that for every and (Serre vanishing for coherent sheaves and ample twists).
For coherent and ample , the twist is globally generated for all sufficiently large (Eventual generation of coherent projective twists, Global generation by the evaluation map).
The natural injection splits for antidominant , and the natural surjection splits for regular antidominant , as sheaves of complex vector spaces; this is enough for the split maps on sheaf cohomology. Here and (Ample translation maps split by central-character separation).
For a sheaf of rings, the right-derived global sections on its module category agree with ordinary sheaf cohomology of the underlying module sheaf (Global sections on module sheaves have ordinary sheaf cohomology as derived functors).
Proof
Let and write as the filtered union of coherent -submodules from [F1]. Fix one . Choose a sufficiently dominant integral so that by [F2], with . The composite factors through by naturality of the coevaluation map. This last group is because is finite-dimensional. By [F4], the map is injective. Thus is zero for every . Taking the filtered colimit and using [F1] gives .
For every quasi-coherent left -module , [F5] and step 1.1 give for each . Given a short exact sequence of quasi-coherent -modules, view it in the full module-sheaf category. Its derived-functor long exact sequence and the vanishing of show that is surjective; left exactness supplies exactness at the other terms. Hence is exact on quasi-coherent -modules for antidominant .
Now assume is regular antidominant and . For any coherent , choose a sufficiently dominant integral so that is globally generated by [F3]. By the split surjection in [F4], is a direct summand of ; hence . The inclusion remains injective on global sections because is left exact, so . A globally generated sheaf with no global sections is zero, hence . All coherent subsheaves in [F1] vanish, so . This applies the splitting to , not to the arbitrary coherent -submodule.
