How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Global sections of twisted differential operators on the flag variety

Statement

Assume the setup of Flag-variety twisted differential operators and their modules and the Axiom of Choice. For every complex κ, the infinitesimal action on Dκ induces a filtered algebra isomorphism Aκ=U(g)/U(g)ker⁡χκ→∼Γ(X,Dκ), where χκ(z)=pr⁡(z)(κ−ρ). No dominance, regularity, or integrality condition is imposed on κ.

Facts & Assumptions

Given: A complex semisimple Lie algebra with chosen positive system, X=G/B, arbitrary κ∈h∗, and the action-algebroid TDO Dκ.

[F1]

Dκ is a TDO with gr⁡Dκ=Sym⁡TX and the infinitesimal action has its stated principal symbol (PBW and integral line-bundle twisting for flag TDOs).

[F2]

The PBW central quotient has associated graded the reduced coordinate ring C[N] of the nilpotent cone (The nilpotent central fiber is reduced and integral).

[F3]

The Springer map is proper birational and pullback identifies C[N]≅Γ(T∗X,O) (Normality of the nilpotent cone and Springer functions).

[F4]

The canonical bundle is ωX=OX(2ρ) in the associated-character convention of Flag-variety twisted differential operators and their modules (Canonical weight of a flag variety).

[F5]

For a cyclic highest-weight module of highest weight λ, a central element z acts by pr⁡(z)(λ) (The Harish-Chandra projection computes the highest-weight scalar).

Let ϕκ:U(g)→Γ(X,Dκ) be the infinitesimal-action map. Use the fiber Q=Dκ,eB/Dκ,eBmeB for the right OX-module structure, and write δ for the class of 1. This is a left U(g)-module. Choose local coordinates tj at eB and a local differential-operator trivialization. For b∈b, its operator is ∑jfj∂tj+cb, with fj(eB)=0 and cb(eB)=(κ+ρ)(b) by the isotropy relation. Moving coefficients to the right gives bδ=(cb(eB)−∑j∂tjfj(eB))δ. The anchor action on functions is the negative of the tangent action on points, so its linear trace on g/b is 2ρ(b), since the tangent weights are the negative roots; equivalently this is the canonical character in [F4]. Thus bδ=(κ−ρ)(b)δ, and n+δ=0. Negative-root vector fields span the tangent space at eB; PBW symbols [F1] show that their ordered monomials on δ span Q by induction on order. Hence Q is a cyclic highest-weight module of weight κ−ρ, so every central z acts by pr⁡(z)(κ−ρ)=χκ(z) by [F5]. Equivariance gives the same scalar on every closed right fiber. Only Lie algebra characters were used, so no nonintegral line bundle is required.

Fix an order bound m. The space U(g)≤m is finite-dimensional by PBW, and FmDκ is locally free of finite rank as a right OX-module by the same PBW normal forms [F1]. For z∈ker⁡χκ, the right OX-linear multiplication map U(g)≤m⊗OX→Fm+d(z)Dκ given by u⊗f↦ϕκ(u(z−χκ(z)))f is zero on every closed fiber by step 1.1. In local frames this is a finite matrix of regular functions vanishing at every closed point; X is reduced and of finite type over C, so each entry is zero. Thus ϕκ kills the whole two-sided central ideal and factors through a filtered map ϕˉκ:Aκ→Γ(X,Dκ). This finite-rank argument does not apply Nakayama to an infinitely generated module.

The associated-graded map fits into C[N]⟶gr⁡Aκ⟶gr⁡Γ(X,Dκ)↪Γ(X,gr⁡Dκ)=Γ(T∗X,O). The last inclusion follows by applying the left-exact functor Γ to each order-filtration sequence. The composite is pullback by the Springer moment map: for x∈g, its linear function on N pulls back to the principal symbol of the vector field xX, namely ξ↦ξ(xX) on T∗X. Linear functions generate C[N] as a quotient of S(g), so the two algebra maps agree on all generators. By [F3] the composite is an isomorphism.

4.1step 3.1algebra∎

Since the composite in [step 3.1] is an isomorphism and its right-hand map is injective, both intermediate associated-graded maps are isomorphisms. A filtered map with associated-graded isomorphism is an isomorphism: lift a target symbol and subtract a lift to lower the order until surjectivity holds; for injectivity, a nonzero kernel element would have a nonzero leading symbol in the graded kernel. Hence ϕˉκ is the asserted filtered algebra isomorphism. The argument uses no order condition on κ.
