How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
A volume-sized external field changes ideal-gas pressure
Statement refuted
At fixed activity and inverse temperature , adding any spatially constant one-particle external energy throughout a continuum ideal-gas region leaves the thermodynamic-limit log grand partition sum per volume unchanged, as would a negligible boundary perturbation.

Counterexample
Given: , , , constant , and the -normalized positional grand sum.
For the continuum ideal gas in a bounded measurable region of volume , use activity , inverse temperature , and no pair interaction. Add a constant external one-particle energy throughout . This volume-sized field changes the pressure per volume whenever , so it is not a negligible boundary perturbation.
The -particle term without the field is , by the product volume [F1] and the convention [given]. Summing over gives by [F2].
With the field, each term is multiplied by , so by [F2]. Therefore and . If , these differ because .
