How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Cutoff elastic-reflection collision measure and gain
Definition
Assume the Axiom of Countable Choice, written (The Axiom of Countable Choice ()). Under this assumption Lebesgue measure is the completion of Borel measure ( is exactly the completion of the restriction of to the Borel sets), and every Lebesgue-measurable integrable class has a Borel representative (A function measurable for a completion is almost everywhere equal to one measurable for the original sigma-algebra). Write for Lebesgue measure on (Lebesgue measurable sets, the family , and the restricted set function ). Fix a positive reference speed , and put . Let be the real vector space of equivalence classes modulo -almost-everywhere equality of measurable functions with
Let . For a Borel set , define the normalized finite angular measure
For and , define the postcollision velocities
The collision-parameter measure is on . Its angular factor is finite and normalized; there is no singular angular weight. For , choose Borel representatives and define the gain by the almost-everywhere integral
The value on any exceptional null set is immaterial because the output is an equivalence class. The next item proves that this definition is independent of the representatives, maps to , and has the stated collision and moment identities.
