How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Wave energy and black-hole perturbation interfaces — model 2
The photon-sphere obstruction to a uniform unweighted local-energy bound for real test waves on the fixed Schwarzschild exterior, using locally proved whole-annulus concentration.
Example
Fix and on the Schwarzschild exterior. The photon sphere at obstructs a nondegenerate integrated local energy estimate with no trapping loss on the entire annulus . Precisely, there is no finite constant , independent of the smooth real finite-energy solution of , such that
Here , and the total and annular energies are those of the scalar test-wave tensor on the fixed background. The obstruction already holds among waves with compact smooth initial data. It is a mathematical statement about test waves, not a gravitational or nonlinear black-hole stability result.

Facts & Assumptions
Given: The Schwarzschild exterior with , the compact trapping neighborhood around , and the stationary energies in the Example.
Nondegenerate integrated local energy estimate near the Schwarzschild photon sphere: the proposed estimate is with one constant for all smooth finite-energy solutions.
Circular timelike geodesics, their radial-potential stability threshold, and the photon sphere at r = 3s/2: the future null circular geodesic has and with , so it crosses each exterior static time slice.
Dominant energy inequality for the real scalar test tensor: wherever the static slice normal and are future causal.
is the only choice principle in the smooth Schwarzschild and tangent-bundle conventions (The Axiom of Countable Choice ()).
The locally proved concentration lemma gives, for every and , a real smooth exact wave with compact smooth initial data, , and on every slice . It uses the same full radial annulus and Countable Choice, with no additional geometric or choice hypothesis. Exact Schwarzschild waves concentrated in a photon-sphere annulus
Verification
By [F2], the null geodesic has constant radius , and increases strictly through every real value. Because , each static slice segment of this orbit lies inside , the integration region defining .
Use [F4] with . For every finite it supplies a wave with unit initial stationary energy and on . By [F3], the local energy density is nonnegative on the whole Schwarzschild annulus, so .
If a uniform estimate constant existed, choose . Step 2.1 gives a left side greater than , while the proposed estimate and bound it by , a contradiction. Thus the nondegenerate no-loss estimate fails for the exact real wave class in the Example.
