How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Classical pure SU(2) Yang–Mills model
A classical, source-free pure SU(2) Yang–Mills model on oriented, time-oriented flat Minkowski spacetime, with one selected smooth right-principal SU(2)-bundle sector, no matter fields, natural units, and compactly supported variations. It asserts no quantum theory, path-integral measure, continuum construction, or empirical result.
Postulate
Each instance of the adopted classical pure Yang–Mills model has spacetime , coordinates of length, orientation , time orientation of increasing , and Lorentz metric . Use , so , the coordinate and spacetime lengths have unit , and the natural action is dimensionless.
Fix the global structure group , not its quotient . Each instance selects a smooth right principal -bundle and admits only its bundle sector . The matter-representation label set is empty, so there are no matter fields or current source. The Lie algebra is with basis and positive -invariant form , normalized by . The positive coupling is a fixed dimensionless model parameter.
A smooth right principal bundle here has a free and transitive smooth right action on each fibre and equivariant local trivializations; a global section is not part of the datum. The sector is the nonempty minimum-rank set code of its smooth equivariant bundle-isomorphism type over , in the supplied non-Abelian gauge-data convention. The gauge group consists of smooth diffeomorphisms with and . A gauge function is only a local description unless a global trivialization has been specified.
A principal connection is a smooth right-invariant horizontal complement . A gauge field is its connection form with and , where and . In a local section , let and let be its curvature. Here the bracket is the alternating-form extension of the Lie bracket, and the local forms on overlaps satisfy the right-action transition convention and when . Define the real adjoint vector bundle by For each local section , use the smooth vector-bundle chart . Consequently, the components of a smooth section are maps and obey when . Thus represents one global section of , and the invariant form makes a global scalar four-form.
Write for the space of smooth real -forms on . For , write , raise indices using and set For , define the Lorentzian Hodge map as the unique smooth fibrewise-linear map satisfying for all . The nondegenerate metric-induced pairing and the wedge pairing give this unique map pointwise, and the constant coefficients make it smooth. On -valued forms it acts on the spacetime-form factor.
Adopt the local Lorentzian action density
For any relatively compact region on which the density is integrable, the action is its integral. On all of , the action is defined when that integral converges. Local stationarity is tested through relative action differences under smooth compactly supported adjoint-bundle-valued one-form variations; these differences have compact support and are finite. No boundary values are imposed at infinity. On a finite region, admissible variations vanish near its boundary. This is an adopted classical model and normalization, not a theorem, measured law, or claim that a quantum continuum theory exists.
