How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
PEC Maxwell cavity eigenproblem and full-kernel gauge
Definition
Let be a bounded connected open set whose boundary is locally the graph of a Lipschitz function (a bounded Lipschitz domain). The zero-tangential boundary condition is the perfect-electric- conductor (PEC) condition. We use PEC to name the closure convention below; for a smooth field this is the usual condition on the boundary. Its space is with the graph norm and closure convention of The real H(curl) graph space on a polyhedron and Zero tangential trace H(curl) space. For a positive constant permittivity and a positive constant permeability , write Thus removes the entire PEC curl kernel, without identifying that kernel with a scalar gradient range.
For a bounded polyhedral subcase with a finite matching affine tetrahedral mesh as in Matching affine simplicial meshes and shape regularity, let where is the lowest-order first-family edge space of Lowest-order Whitney and Nedelec de Rham spaces. The notation for and the quotient gauge follows Kernel quotient and gauge for discrete curl-curl, restricted to this PEC subspace. The continuous PEC eigenproblem is to find and such that The discrete problem replaces by and tests against every . The unquotiented PEC pencil on is to find and such that the same weak equation holds for every . The positive constants are homogeneous scalar coefficients. The coefficient extensions to variable or tensor-valued media require their own weighted compactness hypotheses and are not inferred from the unweighted PE09 discrete-compactness interface.

18 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
