How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Distinct cyclotomic shears give integrable based quantum sl-two chains
Statement
Work in quantum over , with and the divided-power integral form . For put , and . Let have divided basis , , of weight . Let and , where is the monic cyclotomic polynomial. Define and the -linear operator
with on every other divided basis vector. Define , , and .
Then ; and have finite columns on the algebraic direct sum; and is a homogeneous -basis. Its free -span is -stable. The standard compatible bar fixes every . The regular zero and infinity charts, and their crystal residues, are exactly those of the standard direct sum of divided strings. Thus satisfies all four based-module axioms with integrability in place of finite-dimensionality, and its integral triple is balanced. No infinite vector or completed direct sum enters this construction. No choice assumption is needed.
For every , the raw-coordinate action is the finite-column operator
In particular, with ,
and both displayed coefficients belong to . This is a module-construction assertion; it does not assert a failure of tensor globalization.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The quantum weight-module and integrability convention of Quantum weight modules, weights in , and integrability, the divided-power form of The Lusztig divided-power integral form , the divided-power reordering identities of Divided-power multiplication, toral binomials and the reordering identity, the unique finite string decomposition of Uniqueness of the -string decomposition of an integrable module, and the balanced-triple interface of Balanced triples over the two charts of and the globalization map.
In a divided highest string , and , with zero outside . Toral elements act by their weight scalars in , and the Kashiwara operators shift divided positions by one. These formulas follow from Divided-power commutation and the simple string modules, the divided-power reordering identities and the finite string decomposition in the Given suppliers.
The standard string bar fixes divided positions, and the direct-sum regular charts have those bases. The four based conditions of The bar lattice and the divided-power integral lattice of a based module are homogeneity, -stability of the free -span, compatibility of the basis-fixing bar with the module action, and the crystal basis given by the basis residues in the regular zero chart. Integrability replaces the additional finite-dimensionality condition, as specified in Bao–Wang§2.1.
Cyclotomic polynomials are monic integer polynomials of the stated totient degree and are irreducible over the rationals (The recursion defines a unique monic , of degree , is irreducible in for every ). Their primitive-root characterization is the one used in those proofs. The Laurent ring is a unique-factorization domain, and primitive irreducible integer polynomials not associated to remain irreducible there (The Laurent polynomial ring is Noetherian and a unique factorisation domain).
Proof
Cyclotomic denominators. For , primitive th roots occur in inverse pairs and none equals or . Thus has even degree , integer coefficients, constant term , and is reciprocal. Consequently belongs to , is bar fixed, and is irreducible up to a unit in the unique-factorization ring . Moreover is regular at zero with strictly positive valuation; bar invariance gives strictly positive valuation at infinity in the parameter . Different values of give nonassociate irreducibles. Finally divides , since a primitive th root is a simple zero of and not a zero of .
The needed Gaussian congruences. Put and reduce modulo , so is a primitive th root and . The finite identity , proved by multiplying one factor at a time, and the block identity give the Gaussian digit rule: a coefficient with lower remainder exceeding upper remainder modulo vanishes; when the remainders agree, the remaining coefficient comes from the ordinary binomial expansion of the full blocks. Since , for this gives unless , and gives . Indeed the lower remainder is nonzero exactly in the vanishing cases, while in the other cases the unsymmetrized coefficient is and the symmetrizing factor is . The argument takes place in the integral domain and proves divisibility in , rather than merely pointwise numerical vanishing.
Modular divided-power homomorphisms. Fix , write , , and . In , the vector has weight . For , the coefficient of is , whose upper remainder is smaller than the lower remainder ; hence it is zero by step 2.1. For the action is already zero. Also vanishes modulo whenever : until its remainder is nonzero, and for the target position exceeds . Therefore defines a homomorphism of the complete divided strings modulo . To check all generators, divided compatibility is the Gaussian product identity for ; divided compatibility follows by reordering and using the just-proved annihilation of all positive divided powers on the weight- vector , leaving exactly ; the vanished positions respect the source endpoints. Every toral generator and toral quantum binomial has the same weight scalar on matched positions. Step 2.1 identifies this homomorphism with modulo , so for every .
Exact vanishing of consecutive shears. The nonzero target positions of are , . Reduced modulo , their residues are , ranging from to . None is zero. Since is supported precisely on positions divisible by , one has exactly. Other products vanish because their source and target summands do not match. On every vector only finitely many act, so is algebraic, , and . The equality also shows each preserves weights.
Integral action, including the cross terms. Put . For , the standard action preserves each summand of , and by step 4.1. Step 3.1 makes every column of integral. The only potentially nonzero summands of are . The numerator is divisible by , because it equals using ; it is divisible by , because it also equals . These are entrywise divisibilities of matrices in standard divided bases. The distinct irreducibles are coprime in the unique-factorization ring , so their product divides every entry. Thus all cross terms are integral. For every input column there are at most two shear positions, so all sums remain finite. It follows that preserves , equivalently . This checks the full divided-power integral form, not just and .
The basis and its compatible bar. The inverse from step 4.1 makes a field basis and makes its -span free with that basis. Homogeneity was checked there. Each coefficient is bar fixed by step 1.1, so the standard module bar fixes each ; consequently this is exactly the basis-fixing bar of and retains its compatibility with the action. Every vector has finitely many summand components, each in a finite divided string, so are locally nilpotent, the chosen weight grading is a direct sum, and is integrable. No arbitrary selection of vectors or bases is used.
Crystal charts and balancedness. Let and be the standard direct-sum regular charts. Step 1.1 shows that both and preserve these charts and are the identity on their zero and infinity residues: their nonidentity entries are signed , in and , respectively. Therefore the -generated regular charts equal the standard ones, and the residues of equal the standard divided-string crystal vertices. Kashiwara stability and the crystal inverse relations follow directly from [F1], so the fourth based axiom holds. In the common basis , the integral lattice and charts have coefficient rings . Their simultaneous intersection has integer coefficients because a Laurent polynomial regular at both zero and infinity is an integer constant. Also . Hence the integral balanced map is the coefficientwise isomorphism . All coefficient families have finite support.
The explicit top action and conclusion. Since is highest, . Also , so [F1] gives . Replacing by gives the stated formula, because is not divisible by and thus . Gaussian polynomials are nonzero in , so ; step 5.1 proves that both coefficients are in . Steps 4.1–7.1 establish every claimed basis, action, bar, integrability, crystal and balanced property for this actual algebraic module.
