How statement and proof provenance work

The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.

  • Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
  • AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
  • AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.

These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

S-equivalence of integral Seifert matrices

Definition

Let V be an even-order square matrix with integer entries, of size n=2g. A unimodular congruence replaces V by PTVP for an integer matrix P with determinant +1 or −1. For x,y∈Zn as column vectors and z∈Z, the two elementary enlargements of V are E0(V;x,y,z)=(Vx0yTz00T10),E1(V;x,y,z)=(Vx0yTz10T00). Two even-order integral matrices are S-equivalent if one can be obtained from the other by a finite sequence of unimodular congruences, elementary enlargements, and reverse elementary enlargements.
