How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The braid phase is a common scalar character
Statement
Fix the Fibonacci convention with common exchange scalar . Let be exponent sum, sending each Artin generator to . If is the generator-normalized representation , then for every braid and every total-charge block, The scalar is the same on every total-charge block and every spectator multiplicity. It is a global phase for an uncontrolled fixed-sector computation; under coherent control it is a relative phase and must be tracked.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: The fixed-chirality Fibonacci data and the Artin presentation.
Assume every generator has the same scalar on all fusion channels; its relative channel phases define the normalized generator. The actual Fibonacci data carrier fixes and in its stated gauge. Fibonacci fusion data and chiral convention
Standalone unit-modulus phases leave pure-state measurement probabilities unchanged. Standalone Global Phase Leaves Pure-State POVM Probabilities Unchanged
A separately controlled scalar phase can change measurement probabilities by becoming relative to the control branch. A Controlled Global Phase Becomes a Relative Control Phase
Proof
Exponent sum is well defined on the Artin group: both sides of every adjacent braid relation have sum , both sides of every distant commutation relation have sum , and inverse cancellation changes the sum by . Thus is a homomorphism.
For a word , each positive generator contributes and each inverse contributes to the scalar, by [A1]. The scalar product is therefore , while the remaining normalized matrices multiply to . Since every relation preserves exponent sum, this factorization is independent of the word representative.
The same scalar multiplies every charge block, so [F2] applies to an uncontrolled isolated sector. Under coherent control the scalar multiplies only the active branch, and [F3] shows it becomes a relative phase; it cannot be discarded without recording or correcting it.

39 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
