How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Statement
Assume the Axiom of Choice (The Axiom of Choice), inherited from the analytic suppliers below. Let be a compact Kähler -fold with Kähler form , in the conventions of Compact Kähler and rational Hodge polarization conventions, and put on cohomology. Then the following hold.
- is an isomorphism for .
- Harmonic representatives transport to an action: is cup product with , on cohomology means applying to the harmonic representative and not to an arbitrary closed form, acts by , and , , hold on cohomology.
- Primitive cohomology is , and for one has ; for every , and a class of type has primitive components of type .
- If is the real image of a rational class , all these decompositions and -isomorphisms are rational, and they remain isomorphisms after extension to every characteristic-zero field.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A compact Kähler -fold with Kähler form , the operators , , , and the cohomology of .
The Kähler conventions, the Laplacians, the Hodge star, the decomposition, the operators and the sign convention on cohomology are those of Compact Kähler and rational Hodge polarization conventions.
On each exterior power, raises degree by two, lowers it by two, on degree , , , , the primitive-component maps on each fixed degree are rational polynomials in , and every element has a unique primitive decomposition with of degree and , and for nonzero primitive of degree , an element of degree is primitive exactly when , and is a linear isomorphism of degree- onto degree- forms (Hermitian exterior Lefschetz decomposition and Weil star identity).
The de Rham Laplacian commutes with , and , preserves each bidegree type, and equals twice the -Laplacian (Kähler commutators and preservation of harmonic types).
Every real de Rham class of the compact Kähler manifold has a unique harmonic representative, the Hodge decomposition of is by the types of harmonic representatives, pullback by holomorphic maps between compact Kähler manifolds and cup product preserve type, and the rational cohomology is a pure Hodge structure (Compact Kähler Hodge decomposition from elliptic harmonic forms).
The natural coefficient maps are isomorphisms for every characteristic-zero field , compatibly with cup products and pullback (Rational cohomology scalar comparison on compact smooth manifolds).
Proof
By [F3] the Laplacian commutes with , and ; hence and carry harmonic forms to harmonic forms and acts on a harmonic form of degree by the scalar [F1]. By [F4] every real de Rham class has a unique harmonic representative, so applying the corresponding operator to that representative defines -linear maps on ; on closed forms is wedge with the closed , so on cohomology it is cup product with , and the relations , , hold on forms by [F2], hence on harmonic forms by commutation with the Laplacian, hence pass to cohomology. Unique harmonic representatives also transport the pointwise primitive decomposition: a harmonic form of degree is uniquely with primitive harmonic of degree , , because its primitive-component maps are polynomials in by [F2], they commute with by [F3] and take a smooth harmonic form to smooth harmonic primitive components; conversely every sum of string elements with primitive harmonic seeds is harmonic. Since and for when by [F2], the map sends the string of bijectively from its -position to its -position and zero is the only string element killed in the relevant range, so is an isomorphism for ; the kernel of in degree consists exactly of the sums with , because if and only if with , that is ; this is the displayed . Summing the decompositions string by string gives , and since raises both Hodge indices by one and lowers both by one, a class of type has primitive components of type .
Assume is the real image of a rational class , so that cup product with on cohomology is the scalar extension of the rational map [F4, F5]. In rational bases the matrix of is rational and becomes invertible over by step 1.1, so its determinant is a nonzero rational number and the map is already invertible over ; under the comparison of [F5] its scalar extension to any characteristic-zero field is therefore an isomorphism , compatible with cup products. For , the subspaces are rational; for they are zero by [F2]. Thus the primitive summands are then rational, and the rational matrix of the direct-sum map becomes the isomorphism of step 1.1 over , hence is invertible with nonzero rational determinant and stays invertible after scalar extension, which proves that the decomposition is rational and persists over . Finally the lowering operator reconstructed on each string by for primitive of degree [F2] has rational coefficients and, by uniqueness of the primitive decomposition over , it coincides there with the transported harmonic operator ; so the structure itself is rational.
