How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Banach evolution triples and weak time derivatives
Definition
Let be a separable reflexive real Banach space, let be a real Hilbert space, and let be an injective continuous linear map with dense range. Let be the continuous real dual of and write for its pairing with . The canonical map is It is continuous because , and injective because is dense in . A triple with these properties is a Banach evolution triple. If is Hilbert, this is the real evolution triple of Evolution triples and the parabolic energy space.
For , denotes the Bochner space of strongly measurable -valued functions with finite th power norm, and . For and , say in the distributional time sense if for every and . Define This definition assigns no endpoint values; a separate chain-rule theorem is needed before evaluating a function in this space at an endpoint.
Remarks
The published parabolic FEM definition uses and a Hilbert energy space. This definition allows the reflexive Banach energy space needed for the -Laplacian branch. The pairing convention is real and bilinear throughout.

6 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
