How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
The KLR grading and the diagrammatic multiplication
Definition
Let be a KLR datum as in The quiver Hecke (KLR) algebra of a symmetrizable Cartan datum. Assign degrees , and in the presentation; then every relation (1)-(7) is homogeneous (## Verification), so is a -graded unital associative -algebra with , and each is a graded subalgebra (Associative graded algebras, bimodules, and internal shifts). The global sums and need not be homogeneous; displayed generator degrees always refer to their word components. Equivalently, the weight refinement by is available: the idempotent carries weight , and and are weight-preserving operators of the displayed scalar degrees.
Diagram dictionary. Read a planar diagram bottom to top. A local dot on strand is , a crossing of strands is , the identity is the collection of straight diagrams , and vertical concatenation of diagrams with matching bottom labels and top labels is the algebra product: in the diagram for is placed below the diagram for , matching operator composition. Isotopies of the plane that do not change the combinatorial type act as the identity, and the local relations (2.3)-(2.8) of Khovanov–Lauda I (quadratic relation, dot-sliding over a crossing, and the braid relation) in the simply-laced Khovanov–Lauda parameter specialization are relations (4), (6) and (7); for general the local diagram relations are defined by the full presentation of The quiver Hecke (KLR) algebra of a symmetrizable Cartan datum. In particular the degree of a monomial equals the sum of the individual dot degrees plus the signed sum of the crossing degrees, and a dot contributes , while a crossing contributes .
All grading shifts on this page are the internal shifts of Associative graded algebras, bimodules, and internal shifts, , and acts on graded Grothendieck groups by .
Facts & Assumptions
Given: A KLR datum and the presented algebra of The quiver Hecke (KLR) algebra of a symmetrizable Cartan datum with its relations (1)-(7), together with the degree assignment , , and the symmetric matrix with of Kac Moody root lattice height and positive cone.
The relation list of the KLR algebra: relations (1)-(7) of The quiver Hecke (KLR) algebra of a symmetrizable Cartan datum, including the symmetry and .
The parameter conditions (Q1)-(Q4) of The quiver Hecke (KLR) algebra of a symmetrizable Cartan datum, in particular (Q3): is homogeneous of total degree for , .
Verification
Relation (1) has degree on both sides, and in (2) the identity has degree while has degree on the -component; relation (3) has degree on both sides by the symmetry of from [F1].
Relation (4) is homogeneous of degree : the left side has degree , and the right side has degree by [F2], since a monomial of contributes .
Relations (5) and (6) are homogeneous with their actual label-dependent degrees. In far crossing commutation, both products have degree because the disjoint crossings interchange the same two color pairs. A far dot move has degree on both sides, as its untouched strand keeps the dot color. For adjacent unequal colors, dot sliding likewise preserves the degree of the crossing plus the transported dot. For equal colors , the dot degree is and the crossing degree is , so both terms of and have degree , equal to the degree of the idempotent on the right. Thus every dot and far-crossing relation is homogeneous, without asserting that its common degree is always zero.
Relation (7), unequal outer colours: for colours both braid words are sums of terms each moving the same three crossings over the same three pairs, so each has degree , and the right side is ; on the equal-outer-colour case each braid word has the same degree , while the correction numerator has degree and its division by , of degree , lowers the degree to ; for three equal colours and the ordinary nil-Hecke braid relation is homogeneous of degree .
Use the free path algebra with vertices , loops and arrows , assigned the displayed degrees. Its vertex sum is the unit because is finite; decomposing the global generators by word idempotents identifies its presented quotient with . Every defining component relation is homogeneous, so the two-sided ideal they generate is graded, and the quotient inherits a -grading with ; the weight refinement is inherited because each generator preserves the weight and each relation is weight-homogeneous, and is a graded subalgebra for every .
