How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.
Finite circuit syntax and ordered wire labels
Definition
Write for the ordered tensor product of copies of the two-level register from Finite registers and their ordered computational bases, with . Fix a finite gate alphabet . Each has an arity and a specified unitary . An operation model states which listed gates may be called and what access or cost is assigned to them; the matrix by itself is only the mathematical gate data.
For , the circuit wire set is in its displayed order and its state space is . The computational basis word is assigned slot from Big-endian encoding of ordered bit strings, so wire is the most significant bit and the empty register has its single basis vector in slot .
A gate occurrence on the wires is a pair with distinct wire labels ; the tuple order is the input and output factor order of the local gate. A layer is a finite ordered list of gate occurrences whose wire supports are pairwise disjoint. A unitary circuit is a finite chronological list of such layers, with applied first and last; is the empty circuit. Its input, output, and terminally measured wires are specified as ordered lists without repetitions in . This syntax specifies finite data only; the semantic action of gates on the full register is defined separately.

10 results within two dependency steps of this one, each drawn at its shortest distance from it. An arrow runs from a result to what uses it, so the chart reads left to right and ends at this result, which carries a heavier outline. Every node is a link to that result.
