How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

2 · Summary
This page adopts two distinct effective branches. The supported-rest Cattaneo subsystem uses constant positive heat capacity, conductivity, and relaxation time, together with a specified quadratic entropy; its entropy production, characteristic speed, and finite propagation are conditional model deductions, and relativistic causality requires the derived speed bound. The separate entropy-only radiation model adopts its own equation of state and perfect-stress balance; it yields local entropy-current conservation and a frozen Minkowski-rest sound speed of . Neither branch asserts a measured material realization, a universal constitutive law, or a microscopic quantum derivation.

Supported-rest effective Cattaneo thermal model
A constant-coefficient linear thermal subsystem on fixed Minkowski spacetime with an externally supported rest congruence; when used, the flat torus represents spatially periodic fields lifted to Minkowski rest slices and is not a spacetime quotient. Effective quadratic entropy is adopted only on a declared near-equilibrium state neighborhood. It is not a full fluid model, universal constitutive law, measured material model, or microscopic derivation.
Postulate
Use the length-coordinate and unit-observer conventions of Thermodynamics-GR fields, currents, reference normalization and units. Fix Minkowski spacetime with metric in coordinates , where is physical time in seconds, are in metres, and is in . The supported rest observer congruence is the smooth future unit vector field , so . An external support maintains the modeled material at rest in this congruence; the support is not a dynamical variable, and this subsystem does not claim to include the momentum equations of a full fluid.
Fix constants in K, volumetric heat capacity in , thermal conductivity in , and relaxation time in seconds. Select an open state neighborhood of in contained in . The neighborhood is part of the application regime; no universal numerical size is asserted. Let be an open interval of physical time, and define by ; it identifies these coordinates with an open region of Minkowski spacetime. Choose either or, for a fixed , with its flat quotient metric; when , let be the quotient map. The spacetime remains : the torus is only an analytic representation of spatially -periodic fields on its Minkowski rest slices, not a quotient of spacetime. Take smooth fields and with . If , their physical fields on the rest slices are the smooth periodic lifts and on ; under , these are coordinate representatives of fields on . If , the given fields are already coordinate representatives on that region. Here is the temperature departure in K, is the local temperature, and is the physical heat-flux vector in the supported rest space, expressed in its fixed Cartesian rest basis and measured in . Spatial and are Euclidean derivatives in metres on the Minkowski rest space, evaluated by periodic lifts when .
In the source-free effective model, adopt
The first equation is the subsystem's thermal-energy balance and the second is its Cattaneo constitutive relation. Also adopt the specified effective quadratic entropy density and entropy flux
where is constant. Both and have units , and has units . This quadratic function is an adopted effective state function on , not the exact nonlinear material entropy or a particle Gibbs equation of state. The model assigns no measured values to its coefficients, reports no experiment, and derives no microscopic transport law.
Separate no-conserved-number radiation fluid branch
Smooth entropy-only radiation perfect-fluid model with positive temperature and an adopted positive equation-of-state parameter; no conserved-number current, quantum blackbody calibration, measured material claim, or general solution-existence claim is asserted.
Postulate
Use the smooth time-oriented Lorentzian geometry, metric-selected Levi-Civita connection , and length-coordinate conventions of Thermodynamics-GR fields, currents, reference normalization and units, with signature . On an open region of a smooth four-manifold without boundary, take a smooth positive temperature field and a smooth future unit observer-congruence field satisfying . Adopt the separate entropy-only state maps of Separate entropy-only radiation state maps with a fixed parameter in :
The fields have units and has units . Adopt the perfect stress tensor and its source-free balance
on the specified smooth background. In the proper-time velocity convention , this is equivalently with . This branch has no conserved particle-number coordinate, particle-number current, or chemical-potential field. It adopts an effective equation of state and perfect-stress balance; it does not determine from quantum statistics, assert that a physical system realizes these maps, report a measurement, or derive an Einstein-field equation.
Conditional thermal entropy, stability, and finite propagation
Consequences of the adopted supported-rest linear Cattaneo subsystem while its fields remain in the declared near-equilibrium domain; PDE evolution is conditional on the exact draft mathematical supplier, and relativistic causality requires the derived speed inequality.
Statement
For the global-evolution and forward-time clauses below, assume that the postulate's open time interval contains . The local identities and telegrapher equation hold on any open interval on which a smooth solution is defined.
Let and let be or . If , use the periodic-lift convention of Supported-rest effective Cattaneo thermal model: torus fields represent smooth spatially -periodic fields on the rest slices of . Adopt the supported-rest Cattaneo equations and effective current of Supported-rest effective Cattaneo thermal model. The equations are and , with Euclidean spatial derivatives. For any smooth solution on an open time interval, the exact effective entropy-production and quadratic Lyapunov identities are
The associated telegrapher equation is , where on the Euclidean rest space, and its characteristic propagation speed is . Put . For Schwartz data on or smooth periodic data on , the unique global smooth evolution, weighted-norm contraction, and finite propagation at follow conditionally from the exact mathematical interface in [F1]. Here Schwartz data mean componentwise data for which every is bounded for multi-indices , as specified in [F2]. Since the spacetime model uses light speed , the heat subsystem is relativistically causal exactly when
On , for each integer , the periodic solution supplied conditionally by [F1] obeys for all whenever , with and exactly as defined there. This bound ensures positive temperature but does not by itself ensure that the solution stays in the selected domain of the postulate. The global linear PDE statement concerns the mathematical extension of the subsystem; its physical interpretation is restricted to times when . No empirical coefficient or material-specific validity is asserted.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , the supported-rest Minkowski conventions and effective equations of Supported-rest effective Cattaneo thermal model, and the spatial setting stated above. For the conditional global-evolution and propagation conclusions, assume that the postulate's open time interval contains , so the initial data are defined, as well as the and exact constant-coefficient supplier hypotheses carried by [F1]. Physical interpretation is limited to the postulate's declared state domain .
Supported-rest effective Cattaneo thermal model: on fixed supported Minkowski rest space, and ; it adopts and on its open state neighborhood.
Fixed-coefficient Cattaneo entropy and propagation: for every smooth solution with the stated positive thermal coefficients, its Statement gives and for the specified effective current and quadratic form.
Fixed-coefficient Cattaneo entropy and propagation: its Statement defines and states that the system's characteristic speeds are (twice) and ; it also gives the comparison-speed equivalence.
Fixed-coefficient Cattaneo entropy and propagation: for Schwartz data on or smooth periodic data on , its global evolution, contraction, and finite-propagation conclusions are conditional on its separately stated constant-coefficient symmetric-system supplier. Its torus small-data estimate gives when . The carrier and its proof remain draft, not independently accepted.
Schwartz space and its seminorms: consists of smooth functions for which every seminorm is finite for multi-indices ; for the vector-valued data here this condition is componentwise.
The Axiom of Countable Choice (): means that every countable family of nonempty sets has a choice function. This is the choice strength assumed by [F3]'s conditional global-evolution supplier.
Proof
The equations, coefficients, state functions, and spatial derivatives in [A1] match the hypotheses and definitions of [F1]. Applying its exact identities gives and . Since are positive, the production is nonnegative and is positive definite in . These are deductions for the adopted effective current and linear subsystem.
Differentiate the first equation of [A1] in time and take the divergence of its second equation. Substituting and gives . By [F2] its characteristic speed is . All coefficients and are positive, so squaring the nonnegative quantities preserves order: is equivalent to , and multiplication by gives . Reversing these steps proves the converse.
Since , the stated Schwartz or smooth-periodic initial data are defined. [F3] supplies the unique global smooth evolution, weighted-norm contraction, and finite propagation at , conditional on its exact generic linear-supplier hypotheses and assumption [F5]. In the periodic case [F3] also gives for the stated ; if the last quantity is less than , then . The data class is the componentwise class defined in [F4]. This proves the stated positivity qualification without claiming that the solution remains in .
Radiation entropy balance and causal linear sound
Conditional deductions for the adopted entropy-only radiation perfect-fluid branch: local entropy-current conservation on smooth solutions and the frozen uniform-rest Minkowski acoustic characteristics. No particle-number current, quantum coefficient, nonlinear evolution theorem, or empirical realization is inferred.
Statement
Assume . On an open region of a smooth four-manifold without boundary, let and the entropy-only equation of state and source-free perfect-stress balance be as in Separate no-conserved-number radiation fluid branch. For every such smooth solution,
This is a conditional local model deduction; it assumes no particle-number current. In the additional submodel with Minkowski coordinates , constant reference temperature , and uniform rest observer , the frozen linearized system for and has two transverse zero characteristic speeds and longitudinal speeds . Thus its linear acoustic speed is . This is a conditional prediction of the adopted model, not an observed speed or a claim of global nonlinear evolution. The parameter remains an adopted positive coefficient; no quantum blackbody calibration is supplied.
Facts & Assumptions
Given: , a smooth time-oriented Lorentzian four-manifold without boundary with signature and its metric-selected connection, a smooth future unit observer with , a smooth , and the radiation model and balance of Separate no-conserved-number radiation fluid branch. For the linear statement, additionally use the uniform Minkowski rest state and length-coordinate convention stated above.
Separate no-conserved-number radiation fluid branch: , , , , , and ; no conserved particle-number or chemical-potential coordinate is assumed.
Radiation Gibbs and perfect linear sound deduction: with , the specified state maps, a smooth metric-compatible Levi-Civita derivative, and a vector field normalized by , its Statement gives under . This is a current draft mathematical carrier; its exact proof status remains draft.
Radiation Gibbs and perfect linear sound deduction: on Minkowski space the same Statement gives the frozen rest linear system , after the specified linearization about , .
Radiation Gibbs and perfect linear sound deduction: the principal matrix of that frozen system has characteristic eigenvalues (multiplicity two) and in every unit spatial direction.
The Axiom of Countable Choice (): means that every countable family of nonempty sets has a choice function; no stronger choice principle is assumed here.
Proof
Put . Since is constant and , ; moreover . The temperature maps and stress balance in [A1] therefore match the hypotheses of [F1] exactly, under the assumption defined in [F4].
Applying the local conclusion of [F1] gives . By the Leibniz rule and constancy of , ; division by proves . The deduction uses no particle-number current and remains conditional on the adopted stress balance and state maps.
In the Minkowski rest submodel, , so the normalization and coordinates agree with the linearization in [F2]. The state maps give and . The resulting frozen system is and , with .
For a unit spatial vector , the system's principal matrix is . It annihilates the two-dimensional transverse subspace with . On the scalar-longitudinal subspace spanned by and its matrix is , whose characteristic polynomial is . Hence the two longitudinal speeds are and the transverse speeds are zero; since and , .
