How statement and proof provenance work
The first chip identifies the source of the statement or construction; the second identifies the source of its local proof or verification.
- Literature-sourced: the exact statement appears in a cited source; only wording and notation differ.
- AI-adapted: a semantically identical restatement of literature-sourced material, modulo indexing, notation, and boundary cases adopted by the library.
- AI-generated: a genuinely novel statement formulated by AI, with no source for the claim itself.
These labels describe origin, not correctness: citations and verification chips remain separate evidence.

Nested finite regulator and gravitational balance premises
An adopted finite-dimensional model on one fixed smooth classical Lorentzian background and an ordered pair of compact spacelike sections of one smooth null horizon. The outside density matrices, faithful reference matrices, geometric entropy values, factor nesting, and balance relation are specified model data. The reference-subtracted entropy is finite at each named regulator. No continuum factorization, physical state evolution, area calibration, regulator independence, or generalized second law for semiclassical gravity is asserted.
Postulate
Fix a smooth time-oriented Lorentzian four-manifold of signature , with its metric-selected connection . Let be a smooth embedded null hypersurface, meaning the induced metric on each has a one-dimensional radical. Supply a smooth nonzero future-directed null generator field in this radical with . Choose nonempty compact smooth embedded spacelike two-surfaces transverse to , so for every . Their supplied family labels order the cuts; these geometric data use the horizon-section and affine-generator conventions of Specified regulated generalized entropy, but no global event-horizon property is assumed.
At a named finite regulator, take nonzero finite-dimensional complex inner-product spaces as the model outside Hilbert factors at and the additional region between the cuts, respectively, and use the ordered factorization at . Supply dimensionless density operators on and on such that and . Require both and to be positive definite; the may have zero eigenvalues.
For each , define by finite-dimensional spectral calculus and in nats, with . Set . Supply finite real geometric-entropy data in nats and adopt the balance premise
With the physical Boltzmann constant in SI units , define the model's reference-subtracted finite generalized entropy by
For a named sequence of regulators, impose these finite-dimensional premises term by term under one fixed subtraction and finite-normalization scheme. This adoption supplies no convergence claim. The scalar is model data; it is not thereby identified with an area term or with a calibrated gravitational entropy.

Remarks
The matrices and balance relation are adopted finite-regulator premises. In particular, the balance equation is not derived from classical area increase, stationary area calibration, a semiclassical Einstein equation, or Wall's continuum proof. The finite-regulator definition in Specified regulated generalized entropy supplies fixed-scheme and unit conventions but does not itself impose this reference subtraction or balance. The present is the expressly adopted reference-subtracted model value; is not thereby identified with or with an area term. The quantity is dimensionless modular data, not a physical Hamiltonian.
Regulated generalized entropy monotonicity under explicit balance
A conditional deduction for the finite-dimensional nested-regulator model with faithful reference states and the adopted modular-geometric balance. The finite-regulator inequality is pointwise in the named data. A limiting inequality is concluded only when both endpoint entropy sequences have finite limits in the same fixed scheme. The result does not assert limit existence, scheme independence, continuum quantum field theory, physical evolution, semiclassical backreaction, or an unrestricted generalized second law.
Statement
For every finite-regulator data set satisfying the nested balance postulate, set for . Then
If a sequence of such data sets satisfies the postulate term by term under one fixed scheme, and both endpoint sequences converge to finite real values , then .

Facts & Assumptions
Given: At one named finite regulator, the ordered spaces, density operators, faithful reference operators, partial-trace consistency, geometric balance, and entropy values from the Postulate. For the limit clause, a sequence of such data sets under one fixed scheme with finite real limits at both cuts.
Finite relative entropy equals modular energy minus entropy: for finite-dimensional density operators with positive definite, and in nats, . For a nonzero finite tensor factorization, partial tracing both density operators over one factor cannot increase .
Nested finite regulator and gravitational balance premises: , , , and , where and .
Proof
For , put and . Each is positive definite, so the faithful-reference hypothesis in [F1] is met and the finite identity gives .
By [A1], and . Substitute the two identities from step 1.1 and expand: . This is an exact finite-dimensional equality.
The factorization and consistency in [A1] identify as the partial traces over of . Apply the data-processing inequality in [F1] to obtain ; multiplication by and step 2.1 give .
For each regulator index , the finite-regulator argument in step 3.1 gives .
Let . The assumed finite convergence supplies such that for all , and . For any such , step 4.1 and algebra give . If , choosing contradicts this strict inequality. Thus .
Remarks
The balance identity is an adopted premise. The proof uses finite-dimensional partial-trace data processing and real-sequence convergence only; it does not establish that the balance premise holds in a continuum horizon model or that either limit exists.
